ANITA, Co-Owner
Anita T. grew up in Northwest Chicago, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. She currently lives in Crystal Lake with her husband, Michael, her two children, and their Maine Coon cat named Smokey. For most of her life, Anita has had a variety of pets, including dogs, several cats, Amazon parrots, parakeets, cockatiels, turtles, newts, and both saltwater and freshwater fish. She adores every kind of animal - even reptiles!
NICK, Co-Owner
Nick R. has been a lifetime animal lover but took a more practical route early in life, earning a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from DePaul University. He has lived in Lake in the Hills for the past 20 years and currently has a dog named Jilly and two cats, Jackson and Miles. Nick is finally getting the chance to do what he loves: working with pets and helping their owners!
ANN, Pet Care Specialist & Social Media Consultant
Ann C. has lived in Algonquin since 1974 and has had a large array of pets for as long as she can remember (dogs, cats, hamsters, a snake, fish, a hermit crab, and gerbils). She is the mom to two boys, two girls, and a bonus daughter. Ann and her husband currently have two dogs: Moxie and Lord Stanley Pup. She is the proud "grandma" to two dogs, two cats, a hedgehog, and a turtle. She enjoys spending her free time asking her adult kids when they are coming home to visit again!
DONNA, Pet Care Specialist
Donna C. was born in New York and moved to Crystal Lake, IL., when she was very young. She has been residing here ever since. Donna is married with 3 adult daughters and lives with her husband and 3 cats. Donna loves being with animals and is very passionate about caring for them.
BRANDY, Pet Care Specialist
Brandy K. was born in Elgin but grew up and still lives in Huntley, IL. She had a Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix when she was younger, along with a Polish Arabian horse. The Midwest School of Pet Grooming is where Brandy received her training to become a dog groomer, and then she went on to work at a doggie daycare. Brandy is an avid horse rider and hunter/jumper at a local farm who loves working and being with all kinds of animals.
LAURIE, Pet Care Specialist
Laurie M. grew up in Cary, IL. and has been living in Crystal Lake for the past 27 years. She is married with 3 kids and currently has a dog named Cynder. In the past, Laurie has had cockatiels, rabbits, hamsters, and several dogs which include Corgis, Labs, Poodles and various mixed breeds. Laurie has a passion for pets and really enjoys caring for them.
DEBBIE, Pet Care Specialist
Debbie F. was raised in Connecticut and now lives in Algonquin. Having owned a variety of pets, she and her significant other spend their time with their 2 Labrador Retrievers and a Lab/Cattle dog mix. While Debbie is not a professional trainer, she believes dogs thrive with training and structure and is always eager to reinforce any training efforts that are important to dog owners. Other interests include waterfowl and upland hunting, as well as dog agility and skeet shooting. Debbie believes that all animals are truly one of God's gifts and they need to be cared for and loved with that in mind.
KRISTEN, Pet Care Specialist
Kristen B. has lived in the Crystal Lake area for over 18 years. She has always loved animals and has a German Shepherd mix named Freyja. Kristen grew up with many animals including rabbits, hamsters, fish and dogs. She is excited to be part of the Bright Star Pet Services team and loves getting to know each pet.
Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as reading and being outside.
